Beach Dreams and the Sisterhood Brunch

Sunday, December 28, 2014

Normally, the day after Christmas is a lazy day. We are always so tired from the Christmas festivities, so we lay around eating left-overs and watching television. But this year, that was not the case!

We woke up early Friday morning and headed over to North Myrtle Beach to meet our friend Nick for coffee. I've known Nick and his family for a long time and we try to see each other every now and then.

The coffee shop we went to is called Beach Dreams Market. Its a coffee and tea shop that has only been open for a few months. I saw it online and wanted to make sure I went while Taylor and I were visiting at the beach.

I am so glad we did. The shop had more coffee syrup flavors than I have seen anywhere else. They even had tiramisu! I wouldn't say it was a great latte or anything, but it was good and the owner gave me all the leftover too, so she wouldn't waste. The shop was adorably decorated, she had her own handmade soap, and about a billion flavors of loose-leaf tea. I bought a small portion of white tea that was infused with cantaloupe and jasmine. I can honestly say that that is the best tea I've ever had!

Nick, Taylor and I sat and talked for a while and then went over to Hobby Lobby, where I was in decorating Heaven. We really enjoyed our time with Nick, but it was short-lived. We had to make our way to Ainsley's house for a brunch with my friends.

We got to Ain's house at 11 and I started making my egg scramble while Ains cooked up her "Bacon, Pineapple, Water Chestnut Thingys". They were so good! I don't even like water chestnuts and I still couldn't stop eating them!

Gracie also made funfetti waffles and they were great too! I haven't had waffles that good in a very long time!

Being in the same place with all four of my girlfriends at the same time is nearly impossible. Ains and her hubby live in Utah, Taylor and I are in Western North Carolina, Grace and her hubby, and Elise and her boyfriend live on the opposite side of the state, and Meredith and her husband live in Raleigh. We are rarely in the same place at the same time, which is why this brunch was so wonderful! For an hour, all five of us girls were in the same house, sharing a wonderful meal and exchanging gifts. A few of us had our husbands there, which was a blessing too.

Unfortunately, Elise, Grace, and David (Grace's husband) had to leave early, but we were still very thankful for our time with them.

I love my friends. Our lives are so different now, but we still manage to keep in touch. We may not talk a lot, but we always pick right back up where we left off. They are all so precious to me.
Gracie is the one who keeps me level-headed, Mere drags me outside of my comfort zone, Ains never fails to make me laugh, and LC is a friend who's hard work inspires me. They are all fantastic people who have an immense amount to offer the world. I am so proud of all of them!

Taylor and I spent the rest of the day with Meredith and her family. They are like a second family to me. I honestly have so many people in my life to be thankful for. I wish everyone else could experience as much love as I have from so many different people. I am very blessed!

Be aware of the blessings in your life. Thank God for them, first of all, but also make sure those people know that you love and appreciate them. Make sure they feel your love for them the way that you feel theirs.
