Homemade Caramel Mocha

Easy, quick, and delicious - homemade caramel mocha.
If you are anything like me, the best thing you could do in the winter is wrap up in an unnecessarily fuzzy blanket, coffee in hand, watching Netflix until someone makes you turn it off. But sometimes, just plain ol' coffee can get boring *gasp.shock* and unless you are making bank (can we trade?), you can't really afford to go out and buy Starbucks everyday.

For days like these, we really need to know how to make our own specialty coffee drinks, enabling us to keep our fuzzy blankets in tact!

So instead of spending way too much money on a drink that you have to go out to get, try this homemade caramel mocha. It'll quench your coffee craving without you having to leave the comfort of you home!

Ingredients

* 1 cup very strong coffee ( or 1 cup water and 1.5 Tbs. instant coffee)
* 1 cup milk of choice
* 1 Tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
* 3 Tbs. caramel sauce (I used Ghirardelli)

Directions

Brew coffee (make sure it's strong)

In a small pot on the stove, heat milk on medium-low, continuously stirring.

As you stir, add in cocoa powder and caramel sauce.

Add in coffee to mixture.

Turn up heat on stove just long enough for the mixture to begin boiling, continuously stirring (be careful that the milk doesn't burn or curdle).

Serve and enjoy.

This recipe serves two and is approximately 180 calories per serving. If you prefer a thicker beverage, use whole milk and add a packet of hot chocolate. Doing so will increase the calorie count by approximately 75 calories per serving.
