Fruity Protein Shake

This is my newest addition to my recipe book.
I really enjoy it for breakfast. It isn't necessarily "low calorie" but it is SUPER healthy and very yummy.
I love Vanilla Spirutein Protein Powder (you can find it at GNC stores). It is a little expensive though, so for this drink, any vanilla flavored protein powder will do.

This requires:
1 scoop of Protein Powder
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen cantaloupe
1/4 cup frozen peaches
2 cups unsweetened vanilla Almond Milk

(If you don't like those fruits, get creative and use different types of frozen fruits)

Add all of this to a blender (I like my Magic Bullet for these) and mix it until a smooth consistency.
This is PACKED with vitamins and comes out to about 235 calories. You can easily make this a meal; it's pretty filling.

Happy shake-drinking!

The Best Workout Partner

My dog, Bella, and I have been trying to walk more often lately. She is a high-energy Blue-Tick Hound and needs much more exercise than she's been getting recently.
We made a little trail up the mountain which turns out to be the perfect 30 minute walk. It's nice and peaceful and passes by several small creeks (my favorite!), and is secluded enough that I can walk (and sometimes pray) in private while I exercise.
The thing is though, since I have been so out of shape, climbing up the mountain gets tough.....that's where Bella comes in! That cute little booger pulls me up the hill since she has got so much more energy than I do.
We are quite the sight: her and her skinny, energetic self, and me huffing and puffing up the hill, but hey, soon I'll be skinny too ;)

I love my baby :)
