That Stupid Little Pest

It worms it's way in at the worst times.

Its a rude little bug that waits for no invitation.

It crawls into your lap before you have a chance to protest.

It has no concept of personal space.

It's name is anxiety.

I tend to be an anxious person. I am a happy person, and an extremely blessed person, but I struggle immensely with anxiety.

I can be sitting around watching a sitcom, and whack! I'm hit upside the head with a wave of anxiety so big I can't seem to get back to the surface.

Sometimes, its about something that has been bothering me or that I often struggle with, but sometimes its for no reason. There's nothing bothering me, and all of a sudden, I am a crazy lady..... yep. Crazy-lady Kristin, at your service ;)

I'm sure someone out there can relate, which is why I am writing this. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way.

One thing that is vitally important is prayer. I just feel a lot better when I've brought my worries to God.

Another thing that would help me (if I actually put it into practice), is retraining my mind to think on the right things.

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such things.
Philippians 4:8

If we seriously want to get better, we have to act. We can't just sit around hoping that we won't get anxious. We have to take the necessary steps to get closer to God and further away from anxiety and fear. Read the bible, pray, retrain the mind, seek counseling if necessary, and spend time with positive influences. These are the steps we must take.

Father God in Heaven,
I thank you for this day and all of your blessings. Thank you for understand our weaknesses and helping us through them.
Please guard and protect our hearts and minds. Take away anxiety and fear. Help us reject it and think on things of you instead, God in Heaven.
Help us to trust you. Trust is the antidote to anxiety. Help us take hold of trust, full trust, in you, God in Heaven.
Please take control of our minds. Help us not to twist, or misinterpret or misapply anything in life, thinking something is you, your voice, something you are saying, or of and from you that isn't, or vice versa, God in Heaven, in any way, shape or form, in anything or at anytime, Father God in Heaven. And help us know the truth, not believe lies, and know the difference and believe, accept, move forward, live and obey accordingly, God in Heaven, in all things, at all times, and in every way, always and no matter what, with anything and everything we struggle with specifically, in all those ways, God in Heaven, and with anything and everything else in life in all those ways, too please, God in Heaven.
Please do all those things for us, in all the ways I've asked, and help us to trust you fully for that, and in all things. Help us trust your will, timing, and way, and help us trust you in every way we should.
Forgive our sins, doubts, fears and anxieties. Heal us, help us, forgive us and purify and correct us.
Please be with all our prayer requests: all of mine and those of everyone reading this, and of all your children, God in Heaven.
Help us love you with our whole hearts and put you first above all else, always, God in Heaven.
Help us know and do your will always, and take care of all I always ask and pray, and have on my heart and mind always, and desire for you to help me with and do for me, God in Heaven, all in general, all specifically and including all the includings, (new, old, and added on).
Help me and all your children to always trust you fully to do what we've asked, in your will and timing, and to help us in any way you see fit, and to answer our prayers. Forgive our doubts, and forgive our faults.

I ask all of these things in Jesus Christ's holy name, with faith in you, to you alone I pray always, God in Heaven, amen.
