Bad at this...

I'm finding it harder and harder to eat right. I just came back from the wedding, packed full with a bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding itself which was very well catered. Then, almost everyday, I work at a coffee shop with specialty coffee drinks and pastries galore. I feel doomed. One of my biggest weaknesses is coffee drinks. I make them really sweet. The sugar, milk, and more sugar does no good for my health or weight. I'm trying, but not winning. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. We are all so bad at self-control. We, unfortunately, cannot blame anyone but ourselves. Thankfully, I can chose each day to do better. One day does not determine the rest of my life. I ate Bojangles today.... that doesn't mean that I'm only allowed to eat Bo-rounds and drink sweet tea for all the days of my life. I'm not married to it (thank God!). We have to take initiative each day and get off our lazy ba-donk-a-donks! Like yesterday: I was really proud of myself. After I got off work, Molly (my Wolfhound mix) and I walked around Lake Junaluska. The walk is just under 2.5 miles and it is absolutely gorgeous. I love walking the lake; sometimes my feet just hurt too badly from work to commit to a walk that long. I decided that it WOULD happen yesterday though, and I was so glad I did. Molly and I had a great time. Our walk was slow (did the 2.25ish mile walk in an hour), but we enjoyed it, still sweated, and Molly swam in the lake (her favorite! :) ).

Its pretty cool because a lot of people walk their dogs out at the lake, so you meet many cool people (and fur-children). I also enjoy it because you look out over a beautiful lake and there are mountains perfectly nestled in the background. Part of the grounds incorporates the "Rose Walk" as well. The rose walk is a walkway right beside the lake that has roses planted beside it. Roses in so many varieties of color: pinks, yellows, red's, violet, and verigated. So lovely!
My goal is to start walking the lake at least twice a week, plus other exercises thrown in at various times. I am not good at discipline, but I know that I love walking once I start, so I'll just have to keep that at the forefront of my mind.
