Goals

It's been almost two months since Taylor and I sat down and wrote out our resolutions. I figured it was time to give a small update!

Health and Fitness- Taylor and I have done alright with getting up and exercising in the mornings, but we always do the same workout DVD every morning and we were getting bored. So... this weekend we joined our local gym and started working out. We are loving it and have used it every day thus far! I have to say, I am really proud of us!
I haven't lost any weight yet, but I do think I'm healthier.

Spiritual life- I have done okay with this, but I am trying to step it up more. I'm really proud of Taylor. He has stuck with his morning devotional goals nearly perfectly. I have not done as well as I had hoped, but I am slowly improving.

In addition, I also detailed a list of smaller goals that were separate from my New Years resolutions. The two goals I've been working on from this list are reading more and engaging with strangers.

I am currently reading Inkheart (one of the books on my list) and blogger, Ruth Soukup'sHow to Blog For Profit (Without Selling you Soul). I highly recommend both!

I have also been trying really hard to smile at people more and let them know they are appreciated. Today when I was in Walmart, I decided to tell a man working in produce that I appreciated his hard work. I felt like an idiot, but I'm glad I told him. Who knows, he may have been feeling really down or unappreciated. Sure, he gets paid to be there, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't lift his spirits and thank him.

My accomplishments may be small right now, but taking these little steps and getting better at the things on my "Resolutions" and "Goals" lists will eventually take me where I want to be...and isn't that the point?

How are you doing with your resolutions? Are you meeting the goals that you set for yourself? How can you make improvements?
