Coffee Sips and Lovely Links: Saint Patrick's Day

Friday, March 10, 2017

Happy Friday, peculiar ones! Did you know that next Friday (March 17th) is St. Patrick's Day? If it weren't for all the Pinterest crafts floating on to my feed, I probably wouldn't.

I've never really celebrated St. Patrick's Day much- probably because all I knew about it for years was that I better wear green or I'd get pinched... but two years ago I really learned more about St. Patrick and what he did for the Christian faith, and that allowed me to appreciate the holiday more.

I still don't go all-out, but I know a lot of people do. So I figured this would be the best time to share some facts, crafts, and food for your St. Patrick's Day festivities!

St. Patrick's Day history, crafts, food, and drinks for adults and kids.

First of all, I think that it's important for Christians to learn the history of St. Patrick's Day, since it's very different from what is celebrated in culture today. It really is an interesting story.

I found this Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage recipe on Pinterest the other day and it would make the perfect traditional St. Patty's Day meal! Enjoy!

Wash down dinner with this Fuzzy Leprechaun Cocktail. Guys! It sounds so good! Don't drink alcohol? Replace the alcohol with seltzer water and combine with peach, orange, and pineapple juice and I bet it'd still be good!

After dinner, you could eat this not-so-traditional, but delicious-sounding Easy No-Bake Oreo Mint Cheesecake. Wow! That was a mouth full!

Got kids who won't appreciate the history, don't like cabbage or mint, and clearly aren't drinking alcohol? Well then why not try this watercolor shamrock craft, this Holy Trinity craft, or this St. Patrick's Day coloring printable.

And finally, since this IS Coffee Sips and Lovely Links, try this homemade, non-alcoholic Irish Coffee recipe!

I hope you enjoyed today's links. Comment below and tell me which one is your favorite!
