Have you ever hosted your own pumpkin party? Fall is the perfect time to practice hospitality. Learn how you can host your own pumpkin party this Fall with these helpful tips and resources.

Hosting a pumpkin party is one of my favorite things to do in the Fall.  And if you've seen my Fall bucket list, then you know that it's one of my goals that I would like to accomplish again this year. A few years ago, I hosted a pumpkin party at my house, and we had a lot of fun. I cooked soup and some pumpkin-y baked goods, which we enjoyed while we all sat around and talked.

The following year, my friend and I got to coordinate with each other, which meant we had twice the yummy baked goods and hearty soups. She hosted at her house, and I helped with the planning. It was so nice to be surrounded by friends as we enjoyed the beauty of Autumn while we sipped pumpkin cider, stuffed our faces with pumpkin cookies, and tried new pumpkin-y dishes we had never tasted before.

This year however, we just won't be able to make it happen. Moving to a new state was a bigger under-taking than we anticipated. But thankfully, just because I won't be able to host, doesn't mean you can't host your own pumpkin party! It isn't a hard thing to do, and it doesn't require a lot of money, so if you want to learn how to throw your own pumpkin party, keep reading. There are tons of fun ways that you can host a pumpkin party and tailor it specifically to your preferences and needs. Your friends and loved ones will have a blast, and so will you!

Food | What To Cook for Your Pumpkin Party

When I hosted a pumpkin party, everything revolved around the food. We enjoyed looking at the pretty leaves. We were glad for the crisp weather. We swooned over the delicious beverages. But at the end of the day, the meal and desserts were the crowd-pleasers, and for good reason. These recipes are delicious, and sure to make for a wonderful pumpkin-party meal.

Soup

When it comes to the main course at a pumpkin party, soup is my go-to. It's warm, hearty, and just tastes like Fall, ya' know?
Try this pumpkin soup if you want every single menu item to feature pumpkin.

My go-to soup is this white chicken chili soup. It may not be pumpkin-y, but it sho' is good!

Brocolli-Cheddar soup is almost always a safe bet.

Or you could try this decadent beef and vegetable soup.

No matter which of these you choose, I'm pretty sure your guests will be happy about it. Just sayin'. 😉

Baked Goods

I think this is the third time that I have mentioned this apple-pumpkin bread, but guys, seriously, it needs to be in your life. I am going to be taking this delicious goodness to the party, but if I didn't love these ladies so much, I'd have very little desire to share 😉

Caramel Pumpkin Cookies are a dream-team combo. I think these are a winner!

White Chocolate Pumpkin Snickerdoodles are always a good option!

This Pumpkin Pull-Apart loaf makes my mouth water every time I think about it!

Drinks

I served this Harry Potter-inspired pumpkin cider at my second pumpkin party and it was a big hit. At that time we served it chilled, which was delicious. I recently gave this recipe another try at a movie night and we served it hot, which was equally delicious (and maybe even better than when chilled). You need to try this. It is so good.

Not feeling the cider idea? Try this Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate.

And y'all know I am always up for some coffee! If you feel the same way, try this homemade pumpkin spice latte. (Note: when recipes call for pumpkin spice, I use cinnamon instead).

Activities

Charlie Brown and The Great Pumpkin

Despite the fact that I have never really celebrated Halloween before, one thing I have always enjoyed doing is watching Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. If you want your party to be low-key but would like to have an activity planned, why not play the DVD while everyone is chowing down on soup?

Fall Scavenger Hunt

If you'd like a more active event, a Fall scavenger hunt would be an awesome choice! Whether there are kids at the party or not, a scavenger hunt will be fun for everyone. And honestly, there's something about a group of adults doing a scavenger hunt that is just so great! No shame in being a big kid, right?

Decor and Party Favors

Baby Pumpkins

Last year at our pumpkin party, I gave each guest a mini-pumpkin as a favor. This was such a fun, cute, and inexpensive gift. Hosting a party does not require you to give out party favors, but if you decide to go that route, miniature pumpkins are a great option.

Candy Corn Chex Mix

Another great party favor for a pumpkin party is to make Candy Corn Chex Mix and bag it up for each guest. Pretty much everyone loves snacks, and they will appreciate the extra-festive touch.

Fall Printables

There are a ton of beautiful, free, Fall printables floating around Pinterest right now. Printing and handing them out would be such a sweet pumpkin party favor! I personally love this "Autumn Essentials" printable.
